Bungalow Bedroom Refresh

The starting point for this 1940’s master bedroom refresh was a treasured aunts orange chair, and some recently purchased bedding. This couple asked if we help them tie it together? We started by bringing them some dynamic fabric. Using it for window coverings gave this room a bold sophisticated panache. The complex colorway tied the antique chair to the more contemporary bedding. Hanging the drapery panels from a bamboo curtain rod subtly forwards the Asian scene in the print. Layering woven blinds underneath created a rich finished look on the picture window.

Choosing a warm grey wall color ties in the orange chair and accents the crisp white molding. A custom rattan pole headboard wrapped with leather gives a nod to the Asian element. Leaving a boarder of hardwood floor exposed helps connect this room with the rest of the house.

Selecting unique bedside tables and a dresser that fit in the modest space with out overcrowding helps this room function. The lamps have a hand made shape reminiscent of callas lily’s and add interesting texture. The bold custom accent pillows pull turquoise and hot pink from the window coverings on a moral colored background to add complexity to the color scheme.

Hanging the owners own art work, adding the right lighting, and stylizing the dresser with old, and contemporary pieces, helps to interlace the antique chair in this master. By skillfully weaving new and old together we create one of a kind spaces just for you.
